PV Yield Calculator
Calculate the estimated annual yield of your photovoltaic system based on location, system size and orientation.
How the Calculation Works
The PV yield calculator uses irradiation data for your location and takes into account:
Location
- Global irradiation: The available solar irradiation varies by region
- Postcode-based: Irradiation data is assigned automatically
System Parameters
- Number of modules × output: Determines the total capacity in kWp
- Orientation (azimuth): 0° = south, optimal for maximum yield
- Tilt: 30-35° is optimal in Germany
System Losses
- Inverter losses (~4%)
- Cable losses and soiling (~8%)
- Temperature effects
Typical Yields in Germany
| Region | Specific yield |
|---|---|
| Northern Germany | 850-950 kWh/kWp |
| Central Germany | 950-1,050 kWh/kWp |
| Southern Germany | 1,000-1,100 kWh/kWp |
Example: A 10 kWp system in Munich facing south generates approximately 10,500 kWh per year.
